kw vs appeals

Does the filing of an appeal automatically stay execution of judgement?

Video Transcription:

No. The filing of a notice of appeal does not automatically stay execution of the judgment. If you have a money judgment, you have to post what the courts call a good and sufficient bond. And, that means a bond in the amount of the judgment plus two years worth of statutory rate of interest, and that changes four times a year. If you have a judgment that’s not a money judgment, you have to file a motion in the trial court, and demonstrate four or five different criteria before the court will stay your judgment.
