Rebecca Mercier Vargas is a Board-Certified, Martindale-Hubbell AV-Preeminent rated lawyer with a focus on civil appeals and trial support. Ms. Vargas handles cases in a broad spectrum of practice areas, including complex commercial, medical malpractice, personal injury, products liability, insurance, class actions, securities, marital and family law, probate and trust.
Ms. Vargas was selected by Best Lawyers as the 2022 Lawyer of the Year in Appellate Practice for West Palm Beach, Florida. In 2023, Florida Super Lawyers recognized Ms. Vargas as one of the Top 100 Florida Super Lawyers. Ms. Vargas has appeared multiple times in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the Florida Supreme Court, and in Florida District Courts of Appeal. She is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, and the U.S. District Courts, Southern and Middle Districts.
Ms. Vargas is dedicated to serving the legal community. She currently chairs several subcommittees of The Florida Bar’s Civil Procedure Rules Committee. She previously chaired the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Standard Jury Instructions in Civil Case from
