kw vs appeals

What is the timeline for an appeal?

Video Transcription:

The first thing that happens in an appeal is the notice of appeal is filed. Next, the trial court will prepare what is called the appellate record, and then the parties will file briefs. There are generally three briefs in an appeal, the initial brief, the answer brief, and the reply brief. After all the briefs have been filed, if one of the parties has asked for oral argument, the court may allow the parties to present oral argument. If not, then you just simply wait for the decision of the appellate court.
